That's an extremely old mast. There was a video of one on this forum (that was recently retired I believe) just a few weeks ago. We had quite a few of those here in Springfield on the NS line back in the 70's & early 80's.

Update... found the post. This is the same mast I'm pretty sure, just turned a different way.

I try not to think about the older crossing that was removed. Still rather mad at CSX. But everyone knows what's done is done. :OhWell:

I do not know if this location has been discussed, but there I found a crossing that still has one in Denison Texas.

Since the google image date is from 2008, I am not sure if this crossing still uses that teardrop today.

That Teardrop is gone. This crossing with newer pics than streetview is on the site here http://rxrsignals.net/Texas/A-F/Denison/Chandler/
