Those are "Vader" signals. They are called that because they resemble Darth Vader from Star Wars.
They/Them for me, please.

Is there specifically a name for those type of signals? Are they Safetran? Are they something else?

Pretty much all companies as far as I know make them. Safetran makes them along with US&S. If it's on a NS line, it's more than likely Safetran.CSXtrainman13 wrote:Is there specifically a name for those type of signals? Are they Safetran? Are they something else?

Uncle Pete has used Safetran up here on their recent installs. Their older vader signals appear to be US&S.

Yes, also the signal in the picture doesn't seem to have LED's, but it has incandescent bulbs.
Cheers From Florida!

A lot of their newer signals still use bulbs, and are made by Safetran. I've yet to see a UP wayside signal that has LEDs.

I just found out that this is a Safetran Type D Signal with Snow Hoods, made in the late 80's to early 2000's.
