Was scouring through the site and found this image. Will like to go see the signal in maps but don't know its locations. Any Ideas?

Why in the heck after being exempt for so many years, did they put new equipment if the line is still abandoned? Do they plan to use it again in the future or what.

Proof of change

It's still used. The exempt signs mean that busses and trucks with hazardous materials don't have to stop at the crossing. That's why you usually see them at abandoned crossings.
They/Them for me, please.

I remember that crossing well. Some of the old 8 inch lights had LED's in them. The pictures on Mike's site offer a much clearer view of the old setup... along with some active shots! http://rxrsignals.net/Wisconsin/L-P/Mad ... Y/Whitney/

Those gates are a good idea but what I don't understand is why they did not put them on a busy line instead of a line that only got three trains a day.

As noted in the "Crossing Videos" section, the barrier gates at that crossing (along with all the others in the state) will be removed soon. This was by request of the railroad, which cited several issues with them.

Interesting read. Interesting also that the city of Monroe is fighting back wanting the barrier gates to stay.
