My crossing signal project (In Progress)
Today, Sunday the 12th 2014 marks the first day of the signal construction in my backyard. I will be installing the pole in a concrete base, and then putting up my Safetran bell. The lights are in the middle of restoration and I need extra parts to complete my crossbuck. BTW I need to get a base. Safetran or maybe WCH, depending on how I feel the day I purchase it.
Here's some pictures of whats going up today.
Note in picture 1: Those are not going up today, just to show how bad these lights need a good restoration! Especially being US&S 8 inchers from the 30s

Re: My crossing signal project (In Progress)
Almost done, just need to mount the lights. This will be a little more hard to do.

Re: My crossing signal project (In Progress)
Hey Thanks. I am currently in the middle of mounting the lights and finishing its wiring! I am also trying to get my hands on a NS Dot tag. Even though I live in Texas, I still consider the NS the best railroad in the United States! But of course I grew up in Charlotte N.C so that might explain my love for the Norfolk Southern.brett nc railfanner wrote:this is going to look great!
BTW Welcome to the forum man!

Where can you get crossing bells at?NSrailfan4life wrote:Hey Thanks. I am currently in the middle of mounting the lights and finishing its wiring! I am also trying to get my hands on a NS Dot tag. Re: My crossing signal project (In Progress)
You got to go to a signal department within a freight yard, which is where all kinds of stuff is thrown out. But you have to ask a official first if you can have something. Just taking a light or a bell is a federal offense.brett nc railfanner wrote:Where can you get crossing bells at?NSrailfan4life wrote:Hey Thanks.
