Monroe Street, Courtland, AL
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with Harmon LEDS, a Safetran Type-3 electronic bell, an Invensys gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with Harmon LEDS, a Safetran Type-3 electronic bell, an Invensys gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
This is the first NS crossing that I know of in the Tennessee Valley to be upgraded to LED.
Back in 2008, this crossing had a pair of crossbucks. However, sometime in the early 2010s, the crossing got upgraded to these signals, but the lights were incandescent. The crossing got the LED lights sometime in 2014.
The crossing you hear in the beginning is Jackson Street.
They/Them for me, please.

Re: Monroe Street, Courtland, AL
Might be a test of some sort? Especially since these are fairly new signals and they did not updgrade the rest of the signals in town.ZachL wrote:When did NS begin using LEDs???

NS began using LEDs last year from what I've heard. There are a few videos on YouTube that show NS crossings up in New England with LEDs as well.cabman701 wrote:Might be a test of some sort? YoshiDino90 has a video on YouTube of an NS crossing with LEDs in Pennsylvania, IIRC.

Also, Derrick Street here in Huntsville, AL has LED gate lights on one of the signals. I saw them last summer.

Interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out in the Sandusky, OH, area when I return there in March for LEDs.
