I'm still amazed that they decided to upgrade the signals only to take the line out of service. Reminds me of a crossing in Scottsboro, AL.
Maybe the signals were put up by CN and not Grenada? That's one possibility.

That crossing is on the Canadian National railway, not Grenada.

That's what I'm personally thinking. Still seems like a waste to abandoned what's pretty much brand new equipment.

You are right. The GRYR Never acquired this line.CN Abandoned it supposedly due to money reasons. A line 50 Miles to the west known as the Yazoo District is heavily used By CN Still today! And goes to from point A to point B just like the Grenada District, which are from New Orleans. Both branch out in Jackson MS, and eventually meet up again in Memphis. This of course is used as a alternative since CN/IC Did not want to operate both at the same time.On the Grenada district there is supposedly a active segment of the line in Memphis used for BNSF operations. Now If CN Planned for abandoment, I do not understand why they couldn't wait a bit longer before swapping the signals. :UWish:

LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE NOT UPDATED IT SINCE 2010! :LOL3: The site says they STILL own the Grenada to Canton segment.Back in 2010 they tried to make a Embargo on resuming service on this segment. Of course many towns did not like the idea and the embargo was dropped in the summer of 2013.
