cabman701 wrote:Check out the satellite view of this deep crossing: https://www.google.com/maps/place/33%C2 ... :0x0?hl=en. There is only one track... but due to the curve the signals are over 300 feet apart (more than a football field)!

There is Streetview, but it is old and grainy... the satellite view shows it much better.
Up the road is another crossing, and it was in the process of being regraded when the SteetView car went by!

Kind of a unique setup here: https://www.google.com/maps/@46.902129, ... !2e0?hl=en
---------
This setup is kind of similar to the one above. https://www.google.com/maps/@46.816718, ... !2e0?hl=en
---------
This must be a common setup in the area: https://www.google.com/maps/@46.842006, ... !2e0?hl=en
---------
A set of vintage Griswold signals: https://www.google.com/maps/@46.841895, ... !2e0?hl=en

I don't think those are Griswolds, there is a good chance that they are RACO and/or Safetran as well.
They/Them for me, please.

Kind of odd to see a do not turn signal placed on a railroad crossing signal, I don't like how they pointed it though, Its kind of hard to see: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.834459, ... 0000?hl=en
---------
Here is what the crossing use to look like, sad to see these signals are no longer there: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.83476,- ... 0000?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@41.834597, ... 0000?hl=en

---------

Some more nice signals that are no longer there:

This crossing has been seen a couple times here on the forum:

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.8327,-8 ... 0000?hl=en

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.893472, ... 0000?hl=en

Back in 2007, all of this use to be crossbuck only.

Active shots of a crossing with very nice vintage signals that are no longer there.

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.350908, ... 0000?hl=en

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.351073, ... 0000?hl=en

----------------

Some very nice vintage signals that are very short.

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.350846, ... 0000?hl=en

----------------

I like this crossing, it looks cool under the trees.

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.985467, ... !2e0?hl=en

----------------

Kind of weird to have an extra set of lights that high, especially because there is not really much of a hill.

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.929169, ... !2e0?hl=en

----------------

Another signal with an extra set of lights on the top. This signals lights are lower than the signal above and there is more of a hill. This crossing is in a very scenic area. This crossing kind of reminds me of the crossing in White Cloud,Michigan.

----------------

Kind of a unique setup.

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.723346, ... !2e0?hl=en

----------------

This is a bell-less crossing with 8'' lights in a scenic area.

https://www.google.com/maps/@42.158274, ... !2e0?hl=en

----------------

Here is a lovely little pedestrian crossing.
