Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a General Signals Type-1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a Safetran Type-2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

This crossing is one of the last crossings to have incandescent gate lights at it along the CSX S&NA North Sub.
They/Them for me, please.

Here's a couple more videos of this crossing, this time from both sides:

The incandescent gate lights were also replaced.

*originally recorded on 9-2-21*

Signal on the left: 1.5 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, 1 WCH 12x24 inch light with a Leotek EV Series LED, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

On September 2nd, I went up to Ardmore, TN, to see about doing more railfanning along the CSX S&NA North Subdivision, starting around the Tennessee State Line and then working my way south along the line towards Athens. After a little while of waiting here though, I was able to get my first train of the day: CSX Q029 with an ES44AH pulling on the head-end and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.

As you can see, there have been a few smaller changes to these signals since I last recorded it, though, overall, these nice, but well modernized, 80s CSX signals still remain. At some point, one of the rear LEDs on the far signal died and was replaced with a Leotek EV Series LED. The far signal also had its set of RECO LED gate lights replaced with a set of NEG LEDs, along with one of the RECO LEDs on the closer signal being replaced with an NEG LED. Other than that though, no other noticeable changes have occured here, thankfully. Both bells here still remain and are working, and I'm especially glad to see that the remaining GS Type 1 here is still around. Hopefully no major changes occur to these signals for a while. Also, one of the LEDs on the closer signal has also fallen into the lens.

After I saw M514 in Decatur, I hopped onto I-65 and chased it north to Ardmore for the crossing there on the Tennessee side. Here we see M514 once more, as it continues its journey north towards Nashville.

Back on July 4th, Ethan had discovered that the closer signal has also had an LED on it replaced. As such, I returned to this crossing to document that upgrade and to get an updated video for my compilation video of this line. Interestingly, the replaced LED is on the rear of the closer signal (similar to the far signal). I honestly would've thought it was the front-left light that would've been replaced, as that one has had the LED array fall into the lens, but that LED is very much still there.

After getting the two upgrades in Huntsville documented, I continued on out to northern Limestone County to see about checking-up on Mooresville Road in Thach. On my way north, I heard an M514 heading through Decatur and Tanner, so I decided to chase it up to Ardmore to record it. Here we see CSX M514 heading north through Admore, TN, with a CM44AC leading an ES40DC and an AC44CW on the head-end and another CM44AC working as the mid-train DPU.

Since I was last here, a couple more upgrades have occurred to these signals. For whatever reason, likely due to the LEDs failing, two more LEDs here have been replaced with Leotek EV Series LEDs. On the far signal, it's the front-left light, while on the closer signal it's the front-right light. Thankfully, these signals have remained entirely unchanged otherwise, and even still retain the GS Type 1 on the far side.
