New HD Crossing Videos

Post by WRRS-Chicago »

Sounds weird without bells and horns.

The station platform pedestrian signals include two 7" gate lights.

I grew up going over these tracks. About 65% of the times coming through here we'd be stopped by a train. I added a few on screen notations for this video, but am not sure if they'll show up here.

Love those old cantilever signals in the second video along the guy who lost their wood in the third. :LOL3:

Don't think that the third crossing is supposed to have the back lights light up when the crossing deactivates. It also looks like the other gate starts to lower when the rear lights activate.
They/Them for me, please.

Agree on all points. You might notice some "down 'n dirty" audio editing after that guy loses the un-secured wood load. That was to cover my "wtf" comment and laughter.

That set-up in Porter had the masts and gates changed out a few years ago. Before that, the operation was smoother on the deactivation. There's a few other double-line crossings set up the same way in NW Indiana. Most of the other ones I've noticed are between NS and the South Shore.

Can't believe there are still crossings with all 8 inch lights around. Very nice!
