You can also buy these things at antique stores (where I got my bell) or on eBay.NSrailfan4life wrote:You got to go to a signal department within a freight yard, which is where all kinds of stuff is thrown out. But you have to ask a official first if you can have something. Just taking a light or a bell is a federal offense.brett nc railfanner wrote:Where can you get crossing bells at?NSrailfan4life wrote:Hey Thanks. I am currently in the middle of mounting the lights and finishing its wiring! I am also trying to get my hands on a NS Dot tag. Even though I live in Texas, I still consider the NS the best railroad in the United States! But of course I grew up in Charlotte N.C so that might explain my love for the Norfolk Southern.brett nc railfanner wrote:this is going to look great!

Re: My crossing signal project (In Progress)
I forgot about EBAY! This year it seems as the listings are not as good as a couple years back. Also there is not enough stuff on sale. But if you search for traffic signals, there are a bunch. Now there is a Econolite Doghouse Ive had my eyes on for a while. Hopefully no one bought it just yet.

Re: My crossing signal project (In Progress)
The lights go up tommorrow! Note: The signal has been placed in the ground on its final sitting place. Also the front light has supermarket bags, since I have been covering up the light until setup day. It has rained so much here in dallas, that I needed to cover them up. Since the last time, a raco relay/phone box has been added. In the second picture the lights are being tested.

Re: My crossing signal project (In Progress)
I got a poll up for who should be the operator for my signal. I will really love to hear your suggestions. Link to poll below.

Re: My crossing signal project (In Progress)
My signal is just about done. Just Need a Bracket cover and a base and I am all good. I almost got my hands on a NS Dot tag but lost the Bid to some jerk who raised the bid in Ebay from 45 Dollars to $1100.95. So no hope there
