Signal at the railfanning platform in Stevenson, AL
This signal has a pair of GRS 8 inch lights and a WRRS mechanical bell.
The 8 inch lights facing towards the camera are the only ones that work on this signal.
The signal is controlled by a switch that you can see me flipping in the video. The front of the signal actually faces towards the tracks, but the owners of this signal decided to turn the cats-eyed crossbuck and 2 tracks signs around to face the street. The 2 tracks sign is also an "inverted" one, as you can see (white letters on a black background rather than black letters on a white background, like what you usually see at crossings).
They/Them for me, please.

Pretty close to my ideal vintage signal. Obviously, as you pointed out, they've got a couple things backwards. But all-in-all, it's nice to see and hear.

Watching this video again something came to mind... does it have a timer of some sort? I could see someone turning it on and not shutting it off again and it staying on for hours.

I have no idea. I never left it on long enough to see if it had one. I don't think it does though, since the switch is a traditional light switch.cabman701 wrote:Watching this video again something came to mind... does it have a timer of some sort? No major changes to the signal as of 11-4-20, though the bell on it has pretty much died:

Well, to expand upon this a bit, it turns out the signal can only be turned on during the museum's normal operating hours (8 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday), so it can't really be left on for days on end. Of course, it doesn't seem like many people mess with it, as the light switch it's on was covered in cobwebs on my last visit.freebrickproductions wrote: Thu Jul 30, 2015 10:15 pmI have no idea. As of 11-14-21, the museum here has given the WRRS bell a tune-up since I was last here, and as such, it rings again, but it is still very rough sounding:
