I saw these in Philadephia(, PA) last weekend but couldn't make out what they were meant for. They look more like wayside signals without the speaker to act as the train horn. To the right of Race St Pedestrian Signal.

What in the meaning of signals are these?

Its a quiet zone. If those signals are on they flash a red X. That means there's a train coming.Or it could have wayside horn on them for railroad crossing quiet zones.

Re: What in the meaning of signals are these?
The only reason I'm not as convinced that it's a wayside is that I actually got close to them in person. They're bidirectional and there are two other visible pairs of them to the left of the Pedestrian crossing in Streetview. Now they might be Waysides since this is around a curve but I was thinking more that they had to do with the CSX South Philly yard that's a ways south of there.brett nc railfanner wrote:Its a quiet zone.
