Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
The white GMC had to scurry out of the way of the lowering gate. Probably was honking at the car in front of him too it appears...Trainzmandude2012 wrote:Linwood Ave, Emerson, NJ

How the heck does that even happen? I've seen a gate motor get turned because of getting hit, but not the entire signal! And I wonder how long it stayed like that?Trainzmandude2012 wrote:That is pretty turned out of place (Lodi St, Hackensack, NJ)

That makes a ton of sense there... https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7218881 ... 312!8i6656freebrickproductions wrote:Crossing with six e-bells in Atlanta, GA:

I have seen this crossing before, just can't remember where... anyways, here it is caught active. It's in Garfield, New Jersey: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8700853 ... 56!6m1!1e1. This crossing has an odd setup.

Also, I believe Freedomtowerman might've also gotten a video of it in the past.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I'd like to know why or how that signal was installed the way it was. I can think of any reason as to why it would be like that.Trainzmandude2012 wrote: That is pretty turned out of place (Lodi St, Hackensack, NJ)

That crossing is in an area that I would not expect for one to be there.Trainzmandude2012 wrote: Not exempt by any stretch (Atlantic City-Brigantine Connector, Atlantic City, NJ):

I wonder what this blackout signal is for. I would like to think that it has something to do with the crossing but I can't image what. Maybe it is just extra warning. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.3641357 ... 312!8i6656
Looks like there are some crossing gates being stored right next to the crossing. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.3641357 ... 312!8i6656
There is also this unique freeway sign with an advanced warning sign and says "TRAIN WHEN FLASHING" along with two signal beacons. I had to use the view from 2008 because the view from 2015 was too blurry. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.3632969 ... 328!8i1664

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Probably cost extra for this cantilever with the bump out that's only being used for a crossbuck.ToledoRailfan wrote:That crossing is in an area that I would not expect for one to be there.Trainzmandude2012 wrote:Not exempt by any stretch (Atlantic City-Brigantine Connector, Atlantic City, NJ):

Probably for quick replacement when someone breaks one of the 4 of them at that crossing. Smart idea if so...ToledoRailfan wrote:Looks like there are some crossing gates being stored right next to the crossing. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.3641357 ... 312!8i6656
