The crossing was installed in 1995 and has mostly Westinghouse equipment including the gate mechanisms, 8 inch incandescent lights and a hybrid bell. There used to be a hybrid bell on the other side also but it was replaced by a WCH M-bell around 2009. It is the last crossing in Sydney to have the old wishbone gates and incandescent lights. It is a private crossing which is the access road for the rail yards you can see in the background, this probably explains why the old equipment has lasted this long.

Welcome to the forums! That's a pretty cool find. Neat that mechanical bells still get installed in Australia. Here in the US, other than a few commuter/passenger railroads (like NJ Transit) and shortlines (like the Strasburg Railroad), a new mechanical bell being installed is rather rare, though one recently went up in Cullman, AL.

GSV is from 2012; I hope they are still there. With any luck, I'll be traveling through that area this coming weekend so I'll be able to check them out!
That's a great find!

Four crossbuck-yield sign combinations just for one crossing?! Notice the reflective red stripe, there are several crossings on this line with the reflective red stripes. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0172463 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0173016 ... 6656?hl=en

A neat mixture of bells at that crossing. One of them is a Safetran Hybrid bell and this one appears to be either a RACO bell or a Griswold bell:

Speaking of an interesting mixture of bells...
https://www.google.com/maps/@43.2125071 ... 6656?hl=en
I would assume the mini bell is dead, and the e-bell is it's replacement... but hard to say for sure.

https://www.google.com/maps/@43.2266503 ... 6656?hl=en

This one is all original I believe?
https://www.google.com/maps/@43.2010549 ... 6656?hl=en
Almost on it's brother... except for the bell of course:
https://www.google.com/maps/@43.2010583 ... 6656?hl=en

Nice!

Another mini-bell:
https://www.google.com/maps/@43.1689159 ... 6656?hl=en

 again. The one side does point to someone's driveway though...
https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0627349 ... 6656?hl=en

Interesting:

Further down the line we find a train. Looks like they are doing a crew change:
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.9431872 ... 6656?hl=en

Not railroad related... (except that it's by a crossing)... but what the heck is this thing?

Jump ahead 45 years, and except for gates and lights, everything appears to be pretty much in tact:

Each signal also now has only one counterweight instead of two. I like that WRRS equipment though!

Lebanon, Pennsylvania:

Some nice old cantilevers. I assume this was gateless for many years. Not sure if the mechanical bells are still operational, since there are e-bells on both gate masts. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3426039 ... 6656?hl=en
Do not climb... https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3428127 ... 6656?hl=en
Look off in the distance: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3428127 ... 6656?hl=en
Now, move a block up the street: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3438057 ... 6656?hl=en

A block over... the signal on the left is a bit weird: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.34337,- ... 6656?hl=en

Another block over, here is what the crossing used to look like:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.343396, ... 1664?hl=en
An overpass is going in here... and in 2012 at least one of the signals was still standing... I'm guessing it was still in use as it appears construction equipment was still using the crossing: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3432707 ... 6656?hl=en

Manheim, PA... I'm guessing that's the relay box on the left? https://www.google.com/maps/@40.1568047 ... 6656?hl=en
