Classic Griswold signals in Milton, WI:

The signal with the bell was still the same in 2012, but the other signal has had the lights replaced with different 8 inchers:

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Huh, didn't know that. I guess it's because we haven't gotten Wisconsin transferred yet to the current site. Though the bell-less signal has since had the lights replaced.ZachL wrote:That's on the sitefreebrickproductions wrote:Classic Griswold signals in Milton, WI:

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Here's an intriguing one!
Here's a crossing (south of the one posted above), in 2007:
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.7758824 ... 328!8i1664
And in 2012, it gained signals!
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.7758831 ... 312!8i6656
It gained Safetran "bridge" cantilevers!
Those had to have been recycled from some other crossing!

Looks like the streetview car drove through this active crossing in Decatur, Illinois.

I wonder if Google can get in trouble for that if the railroad police or any other local law enforcement see it.ZachL wrote:Sadly that's normal of GSV to do.McK&H.Aust wrote:Looks like the streetview car drove through this active crossing in Decatur, Illinois.

Of course they can if they're caught by law enforcement.ToledoRailfan wrote:I wonder if Google can get in trouble for that if the railroad police or any other local law enforcement see it.ZachL wrote:Sadly that's normal of GSV to do.McK&H.Aust wrote:Looks like the streetview car drove through this active crossing in Decatur, Illinois.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Also looks like the train was stopped, so if the Google car had stopped and waited before proceeding, then, IIRC, it could've been perfectly legal for them to drive through the crossing since the train wasn't approaching and the crossing was gateless. Don't quote me on that though, but I seem to recall hearing that somewhere.ZachL wrote:Of course they can if they're caught by law enforcement.ToledoRailfan wrote:I wonder if Google can get in trouble for that if the railroad police or any other local law enforcement see it.ZachL wrote:Sadly that's normal of GSV to do.McK&H.Aust wrote:Looks like the streetview car drove through this active crossing in Decatur, Illinois.

I do like those ex-NS engines however.
BTW, did anyone else notice the abandoned spur next to the crossing?
