This is the Old Bathurst Road crossing at Rydal, New South Wales. The signals here were installed in June 1977 and it is amazing that the crossing still retains much of the original equipment. Most of the other crossings in the area have been upgraded with all new equipment, so I'm not sure how much longer this one will survive.
The crossing has WRRS/GRS type D gate mechanisms and Westinghouse lights (converted to LED). There is a Westinghouse hybrid bell and also a WCH mechanical bell, both bells ring from start up until the gates begin to rise. There were originally two McKenzie & Holland teardrop bells but they were replaced in the 1990's by the current bells. One odd thing is the new SORS signs that read "Stop Here On Red Signal". These have been used sometimes but always in addition to the regular SORS signs, and mounted on separate posts further back from the crossing.
I only got one train going through the crossing as there are very few trains scheduled during daylight, most trains over this section run at night.
