Re: Bell only crossings
I posted that earlier in this thread, IIRC. It'll also be in the next update I'm doing to the site here in a few days. (Spoiler alert!)ZachL wrote:Quincy, Florida:

Re: Bell only crossings
It goes to a BASF facility so I see no reason why it would not be active.ZachL wrote:Just wondering, but is that line still active?freebrickproductions wrote:I posted that earlier in this thread, IIRC. Well, when you see stuff like this, then you really have to wonder...ToledoRailfan wrote:It goes to a BASF facility so I see no reason why it would not be active.ZachL wrote:Just wondering, but is that line still active?freebrickproductions wrote:I posted that earlier in this thread, IIRC. Re: Bell only crossings
Yes, the line is still active, but from what I understand, it rarely sees any traffic.ZachL wrote:Well, when you see stuff like this, then you really have to wonder...ToledoRailfan wrote:It goes to a BASF facility so I see no reason why it would not be active.ZachL wrote:Just wondering, but is that line still active?freebrickproductions wrote:I posted that earlier in this thread, IIRC. Re: Bell only crossings
Came across this oddity... http://www.railpictures.net/photo/586809/
Not sure if it was for a road crossing or a pedestrian one. Unfortunately it is long gone...

Re: Bell only crossings
Though technically not a crossing, this pier in Geelong has a Teardrop Bell that was used to alert workers of train movement (this line has been abandoned for years though). This is the best image I could find on Google Maps. The bell is mounted on the post, just above the yellow sign:
