Recent pickup with a few questions

I recently acquired this Backplate from a friend who knew nothing about it. I'm hoping some folks around here might be able to help.

All I know about it is that it's a Griswold Signal Company Backplate, with the serial number '41909' on the back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the plate that'd be used at the base of a mast. I think a distant signal in Decatur, AL has one of these on it.
