Looks like they use a traffic signal at this crossing because of the pub right next to the crossing. The pub is named The Station Inn and has a steam engine on their sign, I thought that was pretty cool. https://www.google.com/maps/@52.5034986 ... !1e1?hl=enfreebrickproductions wrote:Found another active crossing in the UK with a traffic light wigwag!

Also, it looks like the crossing is active because Network Rail is out doing some work at it:

This intersection in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia uses some UK style crossing signals to stop traffic for emergency vehicles from a nearby ambulance station:

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
They also look like HAWK beacons here in the US, which are typically used at crosswalks but the city of Huntsville also tried them out at fire stations (hint: they didn't work).chris96 wrote:This intersection in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia uses some UK style crossing signals to stop traffic for emergency vehicles from a nearby ambulance station:

In my hometown of Springfield, Illinois there is a bar/restaurant called (appropriately) the "Track Shack". Food is not bad... and from what I have heard every once in awhile they will give free drinks out for every train that goes by in a certain amount of time.ToledoRailfan wrote:Looks like they use a traffic signal at this crossing because of the pub right next to the crossing. Metro, why do you keep removing Mechanical bells?!
Click here if you want to see which crossings haven't been ruined by Metro Trains bell nazis.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Glad to see that Conrail left the mechanical bells there!ZachL wrote:Emmons Blvd in Wyandotte, MI activated after Street View went on by!

Apparently the signal with the Safetran Type 3 has had quite a few changes over the years. First off in 2007, it had what appears to be a RACO mechanical bell:ToledoRailfan wrote:Google went around the gate too. https://www.google.com/maps/@42.2372307 ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.2372139 ... 328!8i1664
Then it got replaced with a General Signals:
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.2372188 ... 312!8i6656
And now it's a Safetran Type 3:
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.2372127 ... 312!8i6656
Taking bets now as to what it'll have for the bell when Google goes back through in 2018.

They/Them for me, please.
