Milwaukee, Wisconsin... this set of tracks used to cross the Milwaukee river. The swing bridge over the river is still there too... but hasn't seen a train since 2003. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.028594, ... 312!8i6656

Other side of the river: https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0272892 ... 312!8i6656

Yeah... me too. And except for the one light on the mast only crossing, they have held up pretty well these last 13 years. I was thinking they had removed the relay box for that crossing until I finally spotted it.

Abandoned light-rail tracks that were taken out of service when a new line opened that smoothened out this curve in 2010:

The relay case was still there in 2011:

The signals back in 2007 with some signal maintenance going on:

It appears that the signals were re-installed at this crossing on the newer line, which also has signal maintenance going on!

The other crossing:

Back when it had signals in 2007:

They/Them for me, please.

And even with the tracks there obviously out of service, they replaced the crossbuck between 2011 and 2014 anyways.

Pretty cool that they used advance warning signs for the pedestrian crossings, and that is not mentioning how the advance warning signs themselves are interesting. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0846458 ... 6656?hl=en

It might be "Out of Service" but not quite abandoned.

Found an out of service crossing in Gawler Belt, South Australia. (The track looks fairly overgrown too)

Just further up the line, this crossing has "RAILWAY CROSSING NOT IN USE" signs. (One side of the crossing has it stuck over the "STOP ON RED SIGNAL" sign.)

Another abandoned crossing.

One of the signs at this crossing is pretty far away from the tracks.

Back when it still had the regular passive crossing signs.
