Video blooper caused by crossing signal

Post by luke »

It seems this guy wanted a video of the Coast Starlight passing through Salem, OR.

But he placed the camera on the inner gate counterweight.

When the signals came on, the camera was pitched off, producing an unusual view of both signal & train.

Also, BNSFBJ nearly got whacked in the head by this lowering gate at Manteca, CA.

 :LOL2:

Not on video (this was before I had a video camera) a guy got whacked in the leg by the gate counterweights at E. Johnson Street in Madison. He was leaning up against the side of one of the Griswold EM mechanisms

to watch the Circus World Museum Circus Train. I told him it was gonna happen, but he blew me off and when the train approached, the gate went down and the counterweights went up...SMACK! This was back when the line was still owned and operated by Chicago and North Western.

in the second video, that is a little too close to the tracks for me, but a good video.
