You would think these YYR signals would operate like the kind you would see here in the US but they actually act as an indication that the crossing is functioning properly, just like signals in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium ect.

There is also this interesting side gate for the crossing.

Wonder if he climbed up and fixed the gate guard?

I found this lonely crossbuck standing in Champaign, IL:

I didn't find any evidence or any tracks, save for the ones further down the way. So I looked at the previous captures. 2009:

Looks like a crossbuck used for an advance warning sign :LOL3:

There was probably a spur that went through there many years ago next to where the crossbuck is.

Nice find. Sadly the teardrop bell is gone, replaced by a Safetran type 3
I only found that out from the picture on the cover of this report, as GSV hasn't been updated since 2010 http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/d ... report.pdf

It's actually quite rare to see a crossing in NSW with e-bells and old gate mechs (they look like GRS type D), as they are both usually replaced at the same time.

It's not too uncommon to see that in Melbourne...
