Definitely unique to see an e-bell mounted like that. This bell replaced a Safetran mechanical bell:

I wonder why they sometimes do that at crossings, I can't image the benefits of doing that, if anything it makes it less audible to motorists.

The track that the caboose is on a piece of track that was part of a line that ran from Grand Rapids to Indiana. I found this display when I followed the line on Google Earth, the track is gone but you can still see where the line was.
