Both the hazard triangle and the crossbuck were gone when I filmed the crossing last year. Sure is a strange place for a crossbuck!
You can just make out another crossbuck on the other side of the crossing, as well as a hazard triangle. That crossbuck is also gone but the triangle is still there, although the sign underneath it has gone. I guess being a private crossing they used whatever signs they had spare. https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-34.479 ... 312!8i6656

That has to be one of the cleanest looking hazard triangle signs I have seen in recent times. Most of the currently existing ones have faded or had their paint chipped off. But this sign seems to be in great condition despite its age. Nice find!

I was able to get pictures of it yesterday, which I'll post soon.

Found one on a 'Crossing Ahead' at Douro Street, North Geelong. Although the crossing and tracks have been ripped out, they forgot to remove this sign.

Here's the former crossing.

Apparently the UK also used to use these triangles originally, likely where Australia got them from. Here's a pair at a crossing on a narrow-gauge steam railroad over there: (not my video or pictures, obviously)
They/Them for me, please.

Drove past a couple of hazard triangles recently. The first one is near Hexham NSW and is actually for an opening bridge.

The second one is for a crossing at Taree, and the triangle is still upside down!

I wouldn't mind betting that there used to be the older "Rail Crossing" sign with that triangle and they replaced it with the current outline of the flashing lights. There are signs the same as that in NSW, just have to remember where they are!

Here are some more hazard triangles from NSW...

Dunn Ave, Leeton. The crossing is still the same today and seems to be out of service.
