Yea, it appears that it got an LED upgrade between 2009 and 2011. Most of the crossings in the UK are LED now, with halogen ones being very hard to find.
They/Them for me, please.

Wait, crossings in the UK used halogen bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs?

From what I understand, yes. The earlier lights might've used incandescent bulbs though.

I've seen that done here in Huntsville (and I think in a few other places here in Alabama) some times. It's usually done for visibility, while saving money on the number of poles needed for the signs. Here's a few examples:
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7185683 ... authuser=0
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7189451 ... authuser=0
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7225375 ... authuser=0

Of course, the more normal way of providing an extra sign for better visibility would be to do this:
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.6585386 ... authuser=0
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.6580343 ... authuser=0
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.6460696 ... authuser=0
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.6959139 ... authuser=0
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.6958113 ... authuser=0
They/Them for me, please.
