Both crossbucks and track signs at the first crossing are inverted. Northbound:

Southbound:

DOT number - the railroad is wrong. Unless someone has been tinkering with space-time, Southern never entered Nebraska.

These were sitting east of the crossing. In case it isn't legible in the photo, they belong to Cargill

Awesome. Those crossbucks are in incredible shape. I'm almost surprised some dumba :Censored: s foamer hasn't run off with them yet. Nice to know that it appears that line still sees use too. Was there much track west of that area yet...or did you notice how far West from there it is before the track has been pulled?

The track makes it to the west end of town and appeared to end at a closed floodgate with what appeared to be 'west end of rr' written on it. View of the area: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UT ... 14,,0,11.7

Farther west of town, it appears the old grade has been wiped out for the new Northbound lanes of US 275.

It took me this long to notice (just now) that the US 77 crossing before had been an overpass. Interesting jumping between frames on the street view and seeing the new crossing there built in some frames and in the process of being built in others. Looks like when the satellite view had been taken, that bridge had just been newly paved. The surface appears to be VERY dark/black. They are bypassing the town with the new highway grade though... too bad, that usually spells disaster for some of the small businesses when that happens. Same thing seemed to occur when the new 4-lane grade of 163 out of Des Moines was built and towns like Prairie City, Monroe, and Otley were only given exits with limited access. *sniffle* Reminds me of the Movie "Cars" and their take on the story of Historic Route 66, so to say.

Revisit the crossing everyone, Streetview has been updated. Looks as though the tourist line had to upgrade their part of the crossing. The grizzy is gone, replaced with a more modern signal... the gateless on the other side of the tracks has been replaced with a new signal, and note the new relay bunker.
