Re: Poole Valley Road, Decatur, AL
The Type 3 here is now dead, and the NEG (Safetran Type 2) e-bell also got tightened.
They/Them for me, please.

After catching the CSX local freight and CSX Q029 racing through Vinemont, I decided to swing on by this crossing, where I noticed a green signal for another southbound at Oakworth Holdout. After a good half hour or so of waiting, CSX Q125 came flying south through the crossing with a pair of YN3b ES44AHs for power. This was easily one of the most boring trains I caught today.
Apparently, sometime within the past year (likely in the latter-half of the year), CSX finally replaced the dead Safetran Type 3 here with a brand new NEG e-bell. A bit of a shame that the cool Safetran Type 3/NEG combo is now gone though. The fading ENS sign on the right-hand signal was also replaced, but no other major changes have occured here, from what I can tell.

I029 was meeting two northbounds at Hartselle, so I decided to go to this crossing to shoot them. Not too long after, this I026 came through with a YN3b ET44AH leading a YN3b AC44CW on the head-end and a YN2 AC44CW working as the mid-train DPU.
Since I last recorded this crossing more than three years ago, the only change here appears to be that the far signal now has an NEG LED gate light on the tip of it. Strangely, around the time the train reached Mill Road to my south, some of the lights on the crossing began to flicker. My camera didn't really pick them up, but it did manage to get a couple of the flickers, including one I didn't notice myself.
