Traffic light lights?

Found this on YouTube today:


The first crossing quite obviously has what appear to be some traffic light sections in use as crossing lights, and when they pan the camera around at the end an zoom in on the end of the train, you can see a second crossing with the same lights! However, weirdly enough, these lights also have the peep-holes that normal crossing lights have on the sides of them, which traffic lights normally don't have! Combined with the odd backgrounds, I have to wonder, were these lights actually provided by a company selling crossing equipment at one time?
