We have a couple of the Raco cantilevers with the gates mounted directly on them:

The one on the other side was exactly like this one, but was knocked down about 2 years ago. The mast signal that is on StreetView was only temporary, I posted a picture of the replacement signal in the
Crossing Signal News section. That new signal has it's gate mounted directly on the cantilever as well.

I also found this signal a bit odd when it was first installed because it was the first one I have seen with a "growth" sticking out of it:

These here are probably about the oldest signals in town that are still active. They just got a new lease on life too as they were just updgraded to all LED's within the last few months:
