leaving for summer

Post by illinoistrains »

Tomorrow i am taking my annual summerlong trip to Illinois. I wont be on the forum all summer, but i will get to go railfanning all the time.

Most of my time will be spent in Auburn, IL (cabman701 probley knows where that is). This is the Union Pacific Springfield Sub. which also sees amtrak service. I will also get to see the CN Gilman Sub. and the BNSF beardstown sub. I will be back in early August and will have lots of great pictures and stories to share. Im sure there will be lots of new stuff on here when i get back (hopefully "stroken" wont be one of them). Everybody wish me luck!

P.S. i will get on and change my signature and location later.

Bon voyage!!! Have fun, man. :TUP2:
You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

Yes, I definitely know where Auburn is. It is about 20 miles southwest of town.

Illinoistrains... if you happen to log on once you are in Illinois, feel free to PM me. It would be cool to get together and go railfanning together some weekend so I can learn from a pro! I'll provide the ride and the gas money.

Yeah... sorry that I didn't catch you sooner. Glad you had a good time here in the Midwest though. Except for one really hot spell in June... and all the rain... the weather here was pretty good.
