Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Odd setup in Brighton, Ontario. Almost looks like a double crossing with three gates. I don't think I've heard of any double crossings in Canada before.

This crossbuck is pretty messed up and why is there two Give Way signs?!

This crossing was later updated though.

Nice find! Reminds me of the signals that use to exist at Matzinger Rd. 2# here in Toledo.freebrickproductions wrote: Old signal:

Interesting how that one signal is there even though the "road" that is protects had been closed for 8+ years! I wonder if it is still there? I wonder if it had a gate on a separate mast.

Back in 2007, the signal had a Safetran m-bell.freebrickproductions wrote:Old signal:

Metro, why do you keep removing Mechanical bells?!

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Here's a weird set-up:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3960519 ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3962917 ... 312!8i6656
Yes! The crossing really only has one gate! However, it appears that this nearby trail is built atop another rail line's ROW, so that's probably why there's only one gate, as the other one would've been at this (former) crossing:

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
That must have been a two-gated double crossing at one point. Pretty odd sense there is a lot of space, it would have been cool though with the bridge and creek in between! Pretty crazy that that crossing has barely changed sense the other track was removed. I guess one gate is better than none.freebrickproductions wrote:Here's a weird set-up:

Looks like there was a sign there at one point. Maybe one of those old, odd cast-iron "DANGER" signs?ToledoRailfan wrote:That must have been a two-gated double crossing at one point.
