Funny, strange, out of ordinary road signs

Talk about other non-signal stuff here. Make sure to obey the rules though.

Post some examples you have come across.

I think this image has hotlinking protection enabled.

Here's the direct link if this does not come up for anyone: http://i.pbase.com/u15/harpeggio/upload ... onCity.jpg

That's funny to everybody but people from NW Oregon. There is a town called Boring but it's nowhere near Oregon City.
You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

The Arizona roads site linked to on the links page, has a whole number of bloopered signs on it.
The following are my favorite,

The cheap way to make a 'DIPS' sign.

When a hairpin curve just isn't enough... :Scared:

What's wrong with the state outline? :LOL3:

Silly!

On Arizona state-maintained roads, Indian routes are signed like this...
but the Bureau of Indian Affairs & their contractor, Federal Prison Industries, Inc., did this! :LOL2:

Find the pedestrian signal. Is their anything unusual about it?

This sign is saying the complete opposite of its intended meaning.

The Hassayampa River may be dry most of the time, but still prohibited are...

[ over the prohibited activities]

I lived by that "No Ice Fishing From Bridge" sign for 6 years. That's in Wickenburg.

The question now, is WHY was the ice fishing sign put there?

My guess is it was a joke to accompany the real NO FISHING FROM BRIDGE sign.

Yes. It is a joke. Temperatures over there rarely dip below 32°F down there. Mostly upper 30s for lows is more likely over there.

The only time that river is full is during the monsoon season, and it has gotten close to the top a few times during the last decade or so.

This is a town In Austria I wandered through way back when. A tiny, beautiful town with a PG13 name.

Yes. That's it's name. They cannot keep street signs marking the City Limits up because they are always being stolen. Usually by visitors from England oddly enough.

The ice fishing sign looks to be home made. You don't suppose somebody slapped that up there in the middle of the night and no one has ever taken it down?

Also, has anybody seen the pedestrian sign where somebody has applied a sticker so he has a hula hoop going around him? I have seen several like that here in town.

The Ice Fishing sign is still there Today. It's only seen on one side of the bridge though. The other side only mentions no fishing.
