This is the westernmost crossing along the LIRR Hempstead Branch, also just down the street from Covert Avenue's crossing in New Hyde Park, but is probably the strangest crossing on the entire LIRR. First off, it has two really tall mast signals (though one is technically a gate mast, more on that in a little bit) with two Safetran mechanical bells mounted on the front-side of the masts. Both signals also have some Premier Products Inc. (PPI) gate lights in use, with only one other known one spotted along this line. The signal on the right is especially unique, having a lopped-off cantilever with the only known pair of Harmon lights on the LIRR. The removed cantilever arm is likely why those lights survived in the first place. Continuing onto it's "gate mast", we see that the front pair of lights on it are mounted rather high up, between the crossbuck and bell. The left-hand signal is also rather weird, with it having an extra two pairs of lights mounted above the side lights, and, due to these extra lights, the crossbuck is mounted above the bell with the 2 tracks sign being above the crossbuck. This, unfortunately, was also another hard crossing to get a good shot of, but the angle here was pretty good with only two of the lights on the left-hand signal being blocked.
They/Them for me, please.
