Odd Set-up in Clymers, IN

Post by freebrickproductions »

Came across this video in my subscriptions on YouTube today, and noticed the rather odd crossing in it at 0:25. The crossing is in a 4-way intersection and has two gated signals for the main road, but gateless signals for the side street? Just seems kinda dangerous to me.

It appears to have been this way for a while, when taking a look at the crossing on street view, as the older signals had the same set-up!

Well... I was going to say the gates would limit right turns when there is a train, especially on the opposite side where there is plenty of room. But I can see on Streetview they have turn lanes built in for that purpose. So yeah, there really should be gates all the way around.
