A man in Appleton, WI, who was disabled after a grade crossing accident in 1989, began regular protests at grade crossings over the noise. He would sit by the signals, and make obscene gestures at the CN crews as they passed.
But one day, it caught up to him, when he parked too close.
The front of his wheelchair got clipped by the locomotive's pilot, sending him spinning.
He was treated for a minor scrape, and given a ticket for a pedestrian violation.
I did a little research, and got information on the date, time, and even the exact location.
The incident happened on July 20, 2004, at 7:25 PM, at the crossing in the intersection of N Appleton St. & W Packard St. in Appleton.
