Maple Street, Lebanon, TN
Signal on the left: 1.5 pairs of Federal Signal 8 inch lights, 1 Modern Industries 8 inch light, and a WRRS mechanical bell.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WRRS 8 inch lights and a WRRS mechanical bell.
This crossing sure is a classic one! These signals appear to have been installed by the L&N in the very late 1960s, maybe early 1970s (most likely reusing recycled equipment from other crossings for the most part), likely about how it is now. One of the Federal Signal lights on the far signal was replaced later on with a Modern Industries by the L&N, but other than that, the replacements of the crossbucks, and the addition of emergency information to the signals, nothing at this crossing has changed since the signals were installed! Both WRRS bells also sound very healthy. Both lights on my side seemed rather dim in person, though the right-hand light shows up pretty well on my camera surprisingly. Also, something of note is that the bases and junction boxes on both signals face northwards, for some reason. You can also hear the Modern Industries mechanical bell on the nearby Spring Street crossing activate just before this crossing does.
They/Them for me, please.

*originally recorded on 8-25-23*
Signal on the left: 1.5 pairs of Federal Signal 8 inch lights, 1 Modern Industries 8 inch light, and a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WRRS 8 inch lights and a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell.
After I caught NE-03 at Castle Heights Avenue, I went back over to Maple Street to wait on them, thinking the train would go back to the NERR's yard in Lebanon after working the customer. Instead, they wound-up running all the way to Nashville, which was a bit disappointing, as I could've gotten another crossing on the west side of Lebanon, but oh well. Either way, NERR NE-03 eventually came on back to Lebanon, running lite, with NERR 8531 leading the way. I believe this was the first time I've been able to catch NERR 8531 leading.
As they were approaching the crossing, an ambulance also started going south on Maple Street towards the crossing. Apparently the crew noticed said ambulance and stopped by the depot here to let the ambulance pass through first, which was rather neat to see.
As you can see, this crossing has had an unfortunate upgrade since I was last here. In 2021, RJ Corman replaced the great-sounding WRRS mechanical bell pair here with the current pair of GS Type 3s. Thankfully, the crossing has remained gateless and 8 inch, but it's still a shame to see the WRRS bells here are now gone.
