Hi guys! Ethan the Railfanner here, and I'n here to discuss about a crossing in Middletown Ohio: Grand Avenue
As you can see, this is not my farthest crossing I have ever recorded from home, a crossing near Miamisburg Ohio was the farthest. I'll see about re-recording those crossings again soon.
Videos
1st video was taken on May 31, 2016
2nd video was taken February 18, 2017
Siganl on the far left: 2 Pairs of Safetran 12x20 Lights, A safetran gate mechanism, RECO Gatelights
Signal on the near right: 3 Pairs of Safetran 12x20 Lights, A safetran gate mechanism, and RECO Gatelights
This crossing does not have a bell.
I don't railfan a lot on the NS line because of the lack of trains I see, because according to the FRA, I only see about 8 trains during the day, and about 5 trains during the night. So about 13 daily trains. Or about 1 train every 1 hour and 45 minutes.
These Signals have since been removed.
As of December 27, 2017, when I first check out this crossing, the signals have been removed. Meaning they are not there anymore. I will soon get a photo to show you the crossings removed.
The crossing closed down on November 12, 2015 according to the FRA.
