Why is SunRail to blame for something that CSX did before they sold the crossing?NathanFromEngland wrote:BlameZachL wrote:Another useless CSX downgrade, that's for sure.NathanFromEngland wrote:Active crossing in Lake Mary, Florida.

Even when they want to go quiet, people are still playing chicken with them, a woman died last week at the crossing after she was struck by a train.

But why would they? I mean, considering the nearby intersection would've made it difficult for motorists to see the cantilever because of the masts. When CSX downgraded that crossing, sold the line, then started running mostly at night to make it easier for both Amtrak and SunRail, i just don't get it either, why couldn't they just rip out the old cantilever, and slip in another one?ZachL wrote:Why is SunRail to blame for something that CSX did before they sold the crossing?NathanFromEngland wrote:BlameZachL wrote:Another useless CSX downgrade, that's for sure.NathanFromEngland wrote:Active crossing in Lake Mary, Florida.

Mast signals are probably easier to maintain if I had to guess.NathanFromEngland wrote:But why would they?ZachL wrote:Why is SunRail to blame for something that CSX did before they sold the crossing?NathanFromEngland wrote:BlameZachL wrote:Another useless CSX downgrade, that's for sure.NathanFromEngland wrote:Active crossing in Lake Mary, Florida.

Twas a nice early 1990s install before either way...ZachL wrote:Why is SunRail to blame for something that CSX did before they sold the crossing?NathanFromEngland wrote:BlameZachL wrote:Another useless CSX downgrade, that's for sure.NathanFromEngland wrote:Active crossing in Lake Mary, Florida.

If CSX wired those lights up the way lights mounted in those positions on a junction box typically are, then they'd likely be flashing together rather than alternating...ZachL wrote:Well, I guess this is one way to do side lights...

It's entirely possible that one of the signals is wired backwards to get an alternating pattern going.freebrickproductions wrote:If CSX wired those lights up the way lights mounted in those positions on a junction box typically are, then they'd likely be flashing together rather than alternating...ZachL wrote:Well, I guess this is one way to do side lights...

True, but we won't know unless someone records it.ZachL wrote:It's entirely possible that one of the signals is wired backwards to get an alternating pattern going.freebrickproductions wrote:If CSX wired those lights up the way lights mounted in those positions on a junction box typically are, then they'd likely be flashing together rather than alternating...ZachL wrote:Well, I guess this is one way to do side lights...
