What are y'all's opinion, I think this is outrageous, CSX has a lot of hard workers, and laying off 100 of those will provide a struggle in their lives, for who we know, they'll probably have issues in finding another job, or some are near the maximum working age, and will probably end up just retiring.CUMBERLAND — CSX Transportation has eliminated 100 jobs at the Cumberland facility with impacted employees being notified Friday.
"CSX has informed employees today that some positions in Cumberland are being eliminated as part of an ongoing company-wide review of operations to improve efficiency and safety and to better serve customers," said Chris Smith, CSX Corporate Communications. "CSX will continue to communicate directly with employees, customers and other affected stakeholders as these changes are implemented."
Reductions are impacting second- and third-shift staff at the Cumberland locomotive shop where they repair locomotives. A total of 96 employees and four managers will be offered opportunities to move or be let go.
About two-thirds of the locomotive shop employees are impacted. The facility's car shop and service center employees will not be affected.

My mother was given the choice of moving, or being made voluntarily redundant (The workplace she worked in was getting closed down to move to town) and she chose not to move. (And no she doesn't work for CSX
