Yea, that was something the Reading liked to do, IIRC.

If that's a SEPTA line, then they have (or at least had) lots of old equipment in use on their network. I think they're in the process of upgrading their crossings to LED though.

Nice find! Always thought short older signals were cool along with older setups with the signals in the middle of the road.

The other signal has GRS Lex-c lights!

Preemption signals in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, I don't think I've seen a Canadian crossing with them, although I don't think I've even seen preemption signals for a passive crossing in the U.S.
