I'd never seen this configuration before taking a trip to Oregon a few years ago:

Not sure if this is common across Oregon, particular to a certain line or railroad, or just an oddball one-off deal... I didn't see anything else like this for the duration of our visit.

It happens occasionally. Usually occurs when one of the signals would be obscured by something (or otherwise hard to see), usually due to a hill in the road. Maine has tons of set-ups like this.

Love the two Safetran Hybrid bells there though!
