Cool! I must say, I quite like buses, they are the way to get around where I live. There are some new biofuel buses coming into service too!

Yup, I definitely like school buses... I've been driving 'em for over 12 years now. In my avatar photo I'm driving a 1991 Blue Bird TC2000 FE that I used to own. Below are some photos I took of one of our district's new buses. It's a 77-passenger 2010 International CE. Our buses are spec'ed really nice with a Maxx Force DT466 engine (not the wimpy VT365 that's standard on Internationals), air brakes, air-ride suspension, air-ride driver's seat, air door, all LED lights, dual stop-arms with strobe lights, white roof/tinted windows, high-headroom full acoustical ceiling, remote-control mirrors, front and rear bulkhead air conditioners for the passengers, dashboard air conditioning for the driver, AM/FM/CD/MP3 with PA system, and Seon digital video surveilance. Very nice to drive!!!

No... the left side operates the front door (open/close), the right one operates the "8 ways" (yellow & red flashing lights). I drive a school bus part time... but our buses are *NOTHING* like what Josh has down there. We have some 2009 buses, but they are stripped down to the max.

Having the door and light controls on the steering wheel is nice, but it does get confusing once in a while if you pull up say to a railroad crossing on a curve and the steering wheel is upside down. You push the button to open the door and your red lights come on instead! (You've ever had that problem Josh?)

By the way... I'm sure that Josh's bus does have cruise, but it is on the right panel.

Here's a pic I took of a couple of our new one's back in April. Like I said... they are stripped down compared to what Josh's look like. The one on the right with the white top does have A/C, but only because it is a special needs (wheelchair) bus. None of our "regular" buses are equipped with A/C.

Wow... I've never seen a stop sign on the right side of the bus. Good idea though!

It doesn't look like the strobe lights on the stop signs were working too well... or was it just your camera?

Cabman701 is correct... the cruise/throttle controls are the switches to the right of the gearshift and parking brake.

I also don't care for the warning light and door switches on the steering wheel. It's nice not to have to move your hand so far, but you do have to think about it each time and check which way the wheel is oriented.
