Usually "Radio Disney" for elementary or pre-K routes, for middle school and high school I usually put it on 100.3 "Jack FM" which plays a mixture of various 80's and 90's rock. I don't get to drive that often, anyway. I work in the office and only get sent out as a sub driver in rare circumstances when we have an extremely high number of drivers absent. On average, I usually only get to drive 2-5 times per month.
As I said, I had to listen to rap for about 90% of the time. I kept on hearing "Change it to Power 92 (92.3)". It's now Power 98 (98.3). I wish I had my music back then...

I rode the bus from 2nd grade to 11th grade. For me it was always the best part of the day !
Back in the '80s, during my elementary/middle school years we lived in central Indiana and our bus radio was always tuned to 99.5 "The Apple" WZPL, which was a popular Indianapolis rock station. Whenever I hear anything by Duran Duran, the Police, Men at Work, the Eurythmics, etc. I always think of riding the bus.
I wish our buses had AM/FM radio's. Unfortunately they do not. I think it would really help keep the kids entertained and not misbehave as much.
If we did, I would let them listen to "their" music (hip/hop or whatever)... but if they misbehave a lot... I would put on opera music or polka and blast it!

It is funny how much Josh & I are alike. Even though I only work part time at the bus company (mornings only... I have a full time job in the afternoon and evening)... I too work in the office as the morning dispatcher and only drive when we are very short handed. Several times a month is about the average.
For those that are interested, here are 2 photo's of most of our fleet. We have about 200 buses on our lot with our daily route buses and 10 spares. We also have buses rotate in & out of our lot because our lot is the main maintenance garage for First Student in central Illinois. Lot's of activity!
