very lucky to live two-three blocks away from three teardrop bells. one of which i see at least once a week!

the first time google street view went pass the semaphores wasin 2009 when they caught one of them in action!

That's an old spec that the PRR liked to do on their signals. Not many of those left in service these days, nice find!

I wouldn't describe those as "in action". More like "in use" or "operating". Also, in the case of the semaphore signals, they're always in use/operating, though Google caught them showing a different indication once.

still there aren't a lot of operating semaphores left on railroads though!
