Lego Signals

Post by MapsSurfer »

I really don't know where this kind of topic belongs on this site, so please move it if needed.

I have been trying my hand at creating Railroad Signals using Lego Bricks. I find it rather enjoyable, so I'll post the photos of my creations. Post your own creations if you want, this is a free message-board! :D

I've made a few myself, so I'll see about posting some pictures of them.
They/Them for me, please.

I'll start this thread off with some Wig Wags I've recently done. I made them into several prototypical configurations, however the variety of Lego Bricks I own are limited. I can only do my best.
Here are some Cantilever-Posted Signals. These were very common on the Pacific Electric Railway amongst others. Manufactured by the Magnetic Signal Co.

These are Upper-Quadrant Signals. These were very popular with Railroads such as the AT&SF, Norfolk and Western, Southern Pacific and Union Pacific.

I also decided to try my hand at replicating some old-style Modern Industries Cantilevers in Lego form! The result was less-than desired.

For my most recent creation, I built some Black & White Striped A-Frame Gates. They are my favorite after all!

For those who may be wondering the Gate Arms do pivot, they're not just static which imo is a nice feature.
