Private Crossing #2, Mt. Juliet, TN
*originally recorded on 12-4-18*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Harmon 12x20 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Harmon 12x20 inch lights and a Modern Industries mechanical bell.
This crossing was my highest priority NERR crossing to record in the Mt. Juliet area, as it features a pair of gateless signals with a mechanical bell, despite being in a quiet zone along the NERR mainline! In fact, this is the last mechanical bell in Mt. Juliet, and along the NERR mainline between Nashville and Lebanon! I believe these signals were re-used from another crossing, and were installed here between 2007 and 2009, according to Google Street View.
This crossing is in a quiet zone. Trains cannot blow their horns at this crossing.
They/Them for me, please.
