School Bus hit by train at Cream Level Rd, a passive crossing in Athens, Texas. Video from locomotive indicates that the bus did stop, but proceeded directly into the path of the train. Driver, who was ejected, indicated that he never saw the train. Possible factors contribution to accident: Driver's age (78). Train speed? Train was blowing horn for 30 seconds before getting to the crossing.
I'm thinking the driver's abilities might have been impaired by age.
The train's speed has not been mentioned in any of the reports
Note: some pictures of the accident scene show a signalized crossing because the train pushed the bus beyond the next crossing, which is signalized.
