Talk about other non-signal stuff here. Make sure to obey the rules though.

It looks better than parking it on the curb.
Well that's how Brits do it on a narrow road, but it can be problematic for firefighters needing to get to a fire, as they either have to put all their weight on a car to move it or have the owner move it.

I can remember in the TV series Londons Burning when a firework sets a kitchen on fire, the firefighters find out the house is on a really narrow street, and they accidentally scratch the house owners car! (14:30)

Street parking in many cities in the US is designated or prohibited on narrower streets. Driveways are the thing.

4-ways. More common in rural towns today, but very common back in the 40s and 50s.

4-way clusters to be exact. Likely replaced some 4-ways that hung in those same spots originally.

Not the first place I've seen that, but certainly not common either.

I think it's typically done as a replacement for a signal or beacon.

Although if you ask me, i think that there were plans for more houses to be constructed here, but funding may have fell through prior to construction.

Likely closed off due to excessive use of the cul-de-sac as a turnaround point
