*originally recorded on 2-12-19*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.

After catching what I believe was NS A83 in Iuka, I went back over to the east side of Burnsville to catch the local I had seen stopping earlier. shortly after I got here, the block signal to my west turned red and not long after that, the local freight then came through with three SD40-2s for power, with an OLS-painted one leading the train back to Sheffield!

This crossing is another typical one for this part of the line, featuring a pair of gated NS signals installed in the early to mid-2000s. However, I chose to record this crossing as the area it's in is a bit scenic, due to the crossing being located on a large fill where the line leads up to the bridge over the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The gate arm on the far side was replaced at some point, while the closer one is still original. However, despite being newer, the back side of the gate arm is already in rather poor shape with much of the striping starting to peel off, as seen in the video. The e-bell here is also rather faded.
They/Them for me, please.
