Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and Alstom LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and Alstom LED gate lights.
The crossing here is a bit interesting due to the fact that, as far as I know, this is the only public signalized KCS crossing in the entire state of Tennessee! The signals themselves are a bit boring though, being a rather modern KCS install that was installed in August of 2016 (according to the FRA). These signals replaced a pair of gateless signals with Safetran 12x24 inch lights and one Safetran mechanical bell, according to Google Street View. And despite being less than three years old (at the time of this video), a couple of the gate lights here already have dead strands in them. Due to the fact that the train here snuck-up on me, and as such, I was still trying to set-up when the crossing activated, I'll see about coming back here in the next few months to get this crossing again.
There is another signalized KCS crossing to the east of this one as well, and from what I could tell, it has a pair of gateless signals with 8 inch lights and a General Signals electronic bell (possibly a Type 1?), but unfortunately, said crossing is rather far back from the road on a driveway to the papermill up here with lots of trucks constantly coming in and out of the mill, so I didn't want to risk any encounters with security trying to document the crossing.
They/Them for me, please.
